Talks by Claire

Claire’s introduction and welcome to the event.


In this video, Claire describes how she overcame shyness through a series of coincidences that lead her to develop Making Moves and the Sunflower Effect.


Claire speaks about the difficulties that many introverts experience in an extraverted culture and how she overcame these difficulties through drama. This is what lead her to developing the the Sunflower Effect

Claire speaks about Silent Anger quoting from Cicely Berry’s book Text in Action, This is followed by a participant, “Karen” (not her real name) speaking about her experience of how her “silent anger” was released and resolved through participating in an Individual Session and Breakthrough Plus. This process is fully described in Chapter 8 of From Wallflower to Sunflower ,”Your Secret Weapon to Building Lasting Confidence”.


Performances and talks by Making Moves Participants and Associates

20 years of Making Moves and the Sunflower Effect®. Claire’s longest standing participant, who came to the very first course Claire offered in 1996. Thelma speaks of her many experiences of Claire’s courses over a 20 year period and how she “came back to life”.


Fran Singer, therapist, artist and teacher wrote one of the endorsements for the book. Here she tells us how easy it is to grow sunflowers.”


John Grant, author, strategist (marketing and innovation) spoke at the book launch of From Wallflower to Sunflower about the innovative work he did with the author, Claire Schrader, in the nineties. He says he is moving from “Sunflower to Wallflower”. The journey that most extroverted people need to make – to find that contemplative parts of themselves. John has published six previous business books on brands, sustainability, innovation and globalisation. John was the co-founder of the legendary 1990s London creative agency St Luke’s.


Jaycee la Bouche performs her poem “Don’t beleive the Hype” about confidence and body image.

Jaycee is a performance poet, author, self-care expert and coach. She is passionate about supporting people gain the tools and mindset to live a happy and balanced life. She participated in the Performance Course ( no longer being offered) and the “I don’t know what to say” Improvisation course so that she could feel more authentic and natural as a performer.

Jaycee’s second poem addresses issues of the root of many confidence issues – the often painful process of growing up.
